Dialog boxes redesigned

The new form dialog interface has been re-designed, aiming at reducing clutter and simplifying the experience of creating forms.

Post-processing for the Copy Responses plugin

The Copy Responses plugin was updated with the option to enable or disable the post-processing workflow actions between two forms connected by the plugin.

Survey creation simplified for Key Survey users

Changes to the naming of survey types were introduced for the Key Survey users, in addition to the new dialog boxes.

Restrict access to files uploaded in responses

The access to the files sent via the File Upload question in the forms published to the Portal now can be restricted to the authorized users only, alongside the form questions themselves.

Managing questions within the RBR structure using the Show/Hide logic 

Now, when setting up the Show/Hide feature, it is possible to exclude or include questions or answer options from the reports by respondent (RBR).

Sending RBR links in the Remote data sender plugin

The remote data sender plugin now can be used to send the links of the generated reports, using the command tags to modify the output report file.

Multiple ranges supported by the IP Address Access Restriction plugin

It is now easier to specify more complex ranges of restricted IP addresses in the plugin.

Filtering by the modification date in Remote Data Retrieval

Now you can filter responses exported using Remote Data Retrieval by their modification date.

URL validation added to the Survey Opening Validator plugin

The additional validation option was added to the parameters of this plugin.

Workflow actions now support email tags and quick edit

Users now can use the HTML tags when setting up the email to be sent as a part of the task workflow action.

In addition, quick editing of pre-filled data from one form to another became available for workflow actions.

New Options for the CSV / XLS Exporting

Now, when exporting to the CSV or the Excel with the 'Question References' option turned on, the title of the column in the Object Lookup or the 3D Matrix question types will be exported.

We have updated the design of the default layout of forms and surveys. 

The new design has a cleaner, modern look to make our platform more user friendly to make your experience of using our product more comfortable and effective.

A new pugin for managing the RESTful API services was added. It is similar to the RESTful API plugin yet offers more advanced configurability for complex integrations.

Disable the Show/Hide Logic in the Form Preview

Now, when previewing the form that contains a Show/Hide Logic setup, you can disable the Show/Hide conditional expressions so that all of the questions will appear on the preview.

Now you are able to select the version of the data format of your XML/JSOn request created by the Remote Data Sender (XML/JSON) plugin, similar to the Remote Data Retrieval versioning

Mobile Numeric Keyboard

Now you can turn on the numeric keyboard instead of the regular keyboard when answering certain question types using the Mobile App.

You will have three options to choose from:

  • Regular keyboard
  • Numeric extended keyboard containing additional symbols needed to input a phone number
  • Simple numeric keyboard

The option will be available for certain question types and for certain answer fields:

  • Single Line Text with Pre-Format options question type, when customizing text format
  • Pick One with Comment question type, in a 'comments' text field
  • Check All That Apply question type in an 'other' text field
  • 3D Matrix question type, where you can turn on the Mobile Numeric Keyboard when formatting columns of 3D Matrix scales
  • Numeric Allocation question type, when customizing text format

Report Configuration Save Options

You are now able to save your settings for different publish options using the Publish Report page. More information can be found in the Publish Options Help Chapter.

Test Authentication for the RESTful API Plugin

It is now possible to test the actual parameters provided to you by the external service that will receive the information collected within your form or survey. For that, the "Run test" button was added to the plugin's settings. For more info, visit the Plugin's Help Page: Restful API.

Changes to Responses.xml File Structure

Now, when exporting reports to XML, new description elements appear in the responses.xml file, about the files added via File upload question:

<FileName> - the original name of the uploaded file.

<FileSize> - the size (in bytes) of the uploaded file.

<ContentType> - the file type and extension.

Also, if you are exporting responses to XML format using the Remote Data Retrieval feature with the parameter rbrLink=true, the exported file now contains the <RbrPdfLink> description element, allowing you to download the response in PDF format:

These new description elements will not be added to the XML file unless you specify whether to use the latest changes made to the structure, or keep your current structure. For this the new ver parameter should be added to the export URL, where:

ver=1 - uses the current version of the XML export structure (the absence of this parameter or its value will be treated like ver=1).

ver=2 - uses the changed version of the XML export structure.

ver=latest - uses the latest version of the XML export structure.

New Options for CSV/Excel Export

New settings were added to Publish Options when exporting to CSV/Excel formats, making the exported data file fully customizable. These settings are set as default for manual export; 'Scheduled Report Delivery' settings will not be affected, but you can apply the new settings to both the existing and the scheduled new exports.

If you want to keep your current exporting format, make sure that the following options are selected in the right column (the "Include additional data" section is configured per report).

Additional Setting for Decimal Number Format

An option for Decimal places was added to the Decimal number format available for Contact Manager and Data Model fields: 


It allows to choose the number of digits that will appear after the decimal point. This option is now also available during file import into Data Models and Contact Managers.

You are now able to select from 0 to 7 decimal places. All existing Data Model fields formatted as Decimal number have the default value of 3.

Order of Forms in Mobile and Desktop Applications

The forms within mobile and desktop applications are now sorted in alphabetical order.

Modification of Contact Manager Export to .CSV format

Export of contacts will not contain password asterisks in the Password field. This column will be empty in .csv file.

Multilingual Improvements on the Participant Portal

Mobile applications and online portal can work in Chinese (Traditional) language.

Filter Data Models for Specific Contacts

With this release we introduce a new feature - Data Model filtering. This feature is quite useful if you use our Offline Apps for data collection. Data Model filters will reduce the amount of data that needs to be downloaded to the device during synchronization. As a result, the sync time may also decrease.
Filter Data Models for specific Contacts can be found on the Portal Settings page. Such filters will allow to limit the Data Model records that will be presented in the Object Lookup questions depending on the Contact properties.

Filtering is done by comparing Data Model values with the properties of Contacts who log in to the Online Portal or the Offline application.

At the bottom of the Portal Settings page, you will see a list of Data Models currently used in Forms and Tasks which are published to the Portal:

Copy Responses Plugin

The Copy Responses plugin has been significantly improved in this release, and now allows to merge responses from multiple forms into one response of a target form. When merging responses, you may now select if you would like to merge them by Respondent ID or a new parameter called External ID, which will work across multiple forms:

Also, a new parameter Overwrite with empty values has been added to this plugin. This option allows the system to overwrite existing values in target responses with empty values.

"Yes" means the plugin will overwrite target fields with new empty response values.

"No" means the plugin will skip empty form fields, and data that was recorded previously for those fields will be preserved.

New options described above will appear in all newly created and configured Copy Response plugins. Plugins that were set up prior to this release will remain unchanged.

Contacts and Data Model Objects Synchronization

A new option has been added to the Contacts/Objects Import Settings page:


Prior to this release, if the synchronization file hasn't been changed, the system would skip it. Now, if you check this option: "Import file every time, regardless of its state", the file will always be uploaded, even if you did not change or update it. 

This setting applies to manual and scheduled imports. 


 Improvements released on December 4th, 2018

Portal Offline URL Removal

Please note that starting from December 4th, we will remove the Portal Offline URL from the Portal page.

Portal Offline URL is incompatible with some question types, such as File Upload, Object Lookup, Multiple Object Lookup and we cannot guarantee that your data collected via this link will be successfully transfered back to the server.
In case you would like to continue using the Offline URL, you can recreate it by following the next format:

Server URL/offline/#{Portal ID}
For example, https://app.form.com/offline/#1065188

However, if you need to collect data in the Offline mode, we recommend accessing the Offline Portal via Mobile or Desktop Offline application.

Custom Report Improvements

Now it is possible to delete responses in bulk not only from the Standard report, but from the Custom one as well. Custom reports can be filtered, and may include In Progress responses. Therefore, it you need to delete a specific group of responses or remove In Progress responses in bulk, you may do so from the Custom Report:

1) Run the report and click the Delete Respondent button at the bottom right corner;

2) Click the View email addresses or IDs link to see the list of all respondents;

3) Select the responses you wish to delete and click Delete selected responses.

 Improvements released on August 16th, 2018

Data Model / Contact Manager Improvements

Newly created Object and Multiple Object Lookup questions will immediately reflect changes and updates to their data sources.

For example, if you add an additional column to a Data Model, you will be able to pipe information from it right away, without the need to recreate an existing Object Lookup question from scratch.

For Lookup questions created prior to this release, the behavior won't change. However, you can enable automatic update of an existing (Multiple) Object Lookup question by going to its Edit page. There you will see an Update question button. Once this button is pressed, the system will check whether the Data Model /Contact Manager changes are compatible with the current question setup, and enable automatic updates if possible.

SSO Configuration

For branded accounts, it will now be possible to set up more than one SSO authentication provider per site. For example, you may use different SSO identity providers for admin and portal access.
